Our Client is a is a full-service healthcare organization, providing healthcare services throughout California and across the nation.

 

Job Description/Summary: 

Work directly with Technical Support Manager to improve system efficiencies and deliver results that will make the organization more profitable. Responsible for effectively managing data using SQL skills to craft accurate and sustainable data solutions using Microsoft Access and develops database report queries. Work on multiple projects simultaneously and translate business data into digestible information that improves corporate processes.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrates expert working knowledge of SQL and Microsoft Access
  • Build stored procedures involving complex joins, sub queries and aggregate functions
  • Perform data analysis for data integrity, perform data cleansing & normalization of data
  • Analyzes claims data as it relates to medical claims and physician network database
  • Manages data for physician and facility rosters for system uploads
  • Assists the Technical Support Manager with monthly and ad-hoc reports as needed
  • Works closely with Operations Specialist and provides back up support on Electronic Interchange Data files (EDI) for member eligibility, claims and authorizations
  • Provides backup support for check write functions for self-insured groups
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality and responsible for following Company and client policies and procedures, HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines in the handling of Protected Health Information (PHI)
  • Responsible for regular and predictable attendance
  • Perform related duties as assigned:
  • Attends meetings, training and completes continuing education as necessary
  • Works independently and in a team environment, ensuring team and individual goals are met
  • Handles special projects and other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:

  • Strong proficiency in SQL Server and Microsoft Access and interpretation of query execution plans
  • SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or other reporting tool experience
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Some proficiency in Excel is preferred
  • 2+ years in a data engineer or SQL-heavy data analyst role
  • Proficient in data-based systems and related technical software programs
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter with desire to learn
  • Ability to analyze data and report key findings in a user-friendly manner
  • Results-oriented, sets priorities, meets deadlines/targets and manages diverse projects
  • Ability to conform to established work schedule. Must have high-level attendance in accordance with the Company Attendance Policy
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor and to exercise tact and discretion

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • Associate‚Äôs degree in IT/Computer Science or related field preferred
  • Experience with data-based systems required
  • Prior medical claims billing, processing and/or experience with employer benefit plans preferred
  • Current typing certificate demonstrating a typing ability of 45 wpm, dated within one year of application

Essential Physical Requirements and Tasks:

  • Employee is constantly required to sit; talk; hear; use keyboard/ten key; and repetitive motion of hands
  • Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, bend, kneel, squat or crouch
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or push/pull up to 25lbs
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception
  • Exposure to air-conditioned/heated office environment
  • Use of office equipment, such as telephone, computer, copy machine and fax machine
