Under minimal direction, this position is responsible for the review of the quality systems and compliance in all areas of technical and clinical operations. The Director participates in operational excellence and other performance improvement initiatives. He or she oversees staff participation in performance improvement initiatives, to include data and process analysis, and serves as a resource to operations on quality issues.
Successful candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree, along with certification as a Medical Technologist, or RN licensure. Five years of related experience in a regulated industry is required, to include one to two years of supervisory experience and two to three years of experience in quality, regulatory, and/or auditing. The applicant must have a participative management style, strong team development skills, coaching skills, and the ability to lead and motivate senior level managers. He or she must have analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to organize, prioritize and execute a variable workload and multiple priorities.
Duties include conducting data and process analysis activities, including in-depth analysis of deviation and operational performance data. The Director hosts external inspections and supports the internal audit program and the performance of process-based audits. He or she participates in improvement initiatives and risk identification and risk mitigations steps. Duties also include management of the QA department and evaluation and hiring of personnel.
