Production Accountant

  •  Manage/reviews, revenue, property and joint interest billing (JIB) accounting activities. Performs process/entries in order to meet deadlines when needed.
  •  Manage the accounts payable process ensuring payments are made timely and accurately. Key entries when needed for quick payment. Approves invoices. Speaks with vendors regarding discrepancies and payments. Contact vendors for W-9’s etc.
  •  Owners – work with Land to obtain/make/approve changes in owner’s personal information as well as interest changes/transfers. Answer calls from owners regarding tax/discrepancies in payments/distributions/changes etc.
  • Perform GL account analysis and prepare journal entries, as needed.
  • Manage and assign GL account reconciliation responsibilities and review final reconciliations
  • Perform detailed review of monthly revenue entries, including revenue accruals.
  • Manage the Company’s fixed asset register.
  • Generate and review JIB invoices for the company.
  • Research and resolve operated JIB working interest issues and billing disputes by working with Land, Operations, and other departments.
  • Analyze and review capital, LOE, and workover costs for accruals and other month-end/year-end processes.
  • Manage capital expenditures processing ensuring that AFEs are properly monitored and reported.
  • Define and document procedures and processes, implement appropriate controls, and continually seek opportunities for improvement.
  • Tax – maintain and complete quarterly spreadsheets to report royalty and partner California withholding. Provide yearly schedules for tax K’1’s and returns. Deal with all discrepancies.
  • Yearly complete 592-b forms for all royalty and partner withholding, as well as, quarterly 592 returns. Also, complete 1099’s for owners/vendors and 1099 tax returns and uploads yearly.
  • Property Taxes – ties property tax spreadsheet to invoices to reconcile property taxes before sending the upload to Kern County. Completes the wire and manual entry to clear the invoices from internal system. Then creates allocation and provides to team for revenue.
  • Performs yearly/biyearly insurance/conservation tax allocations
  • Obtain/create quarterly balance sheet/income statement journal entries.
  • Resolve disputes with Office of Natural Resources Revenue.
  • Update Overhead Charge Rates yearly.
  • Maintain record of Levies for vendors/owners and complete all forms/call with IRS/FTB.
