Summary:

The Project Design Engineer, P.E. is a liaison between the sales and engineering functions to collect information and develop system and equipment specifications for individual customer applications of company products. The position is also responsible for development of training resources and materials to strengthen technical expertise and product knowledge for the sales and design teams, customer service and technical support teams, and the company's customer network.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be part of a team of engaged and motivated sales and design professionals striving to supply the ideal customer experience.
  • Work on rewarding and challenging projects, supplying technical resources and training to the organization and the customer network. Empowering like-minded individuals passionate about service.
  • Ensure consistent application of design principles throughout the sales and design process, auditing and creating procedures as needed.
  • Identify product performance data requirements for existing and proposed products. Coordinate logistics of testing with internal resources and perform field tests as needed.
  • Learn about the fascinating animal feeding and waste management industries that supply critical resources to communities worldwide.
  • Participate in a dynamic and growing organization, with many opportunities to grow as an individual and professional.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field of Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ Years Working experience in a systems design role.
  • Professional Engineer or equivalent certification from related field is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in 3D modeling and design tools and general manufacturing processes.
  • Application and knowledge of the following: engineering and design principles, product documentation, construction and project management, pump laws and fluid dynamics, wastewater management and water quality, renewable natural gas (RNG) processes, and agricultural related industries.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel as needed to fulfill the role.

Environment and Conditions:

  • Indoor with typical office environment 90% of the time. Noise level in this environment is low to moderate.
  • Indoor/outdoor typical manufacturing environment approximately 5% of the time. Noise level in this environment is moderate to high.
  • Outdoor with exposure to weather approximately 5% of the time.
  • Perform duties as assigned while following safety requirements, including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Physical Demands:

  • The employee must occasionally talk, hear, stoop, kneel, squat, push, pull, crouch, crawl and climb stairs. Ability to frequently walk and stand.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
  • A 40-hour work week will be considered normal. Extra hours, working non-scheduled hours and extra workdays may be needed to accommodate changing production schedules, new projects, product development and other special situations.
  • Position may transition to a hybrid remote position post probationary and training period.
