Job Description:

  • Optimize and manage the sub-surface development
  • Identify complex reservoir problems and evaluate plans to implement solutions.
  • Direct and supervise other professionals to ensure projects are carried out effectively.
  • Hire, assign, and supervise staff to ensure tasks are completed prior to project deadline.
  • Manage consultants who provide expertise to the organization in resource, development, and design.
  • Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for engineering work.
  • Review, recommend, and approve contracts.
  • Provide technical and economic analysis for new oilfield development projects
  • In consultation with other Managers, consider the relative costs and benefits of planned projects
  • Prepare presentations with development plans and economic forecasts for upper management.
  • Appraise renewable and conventional energy projects for continued growth of the organization
  • Analyze technical data and develop new methods to enhance oil and gas recovery.
  • Use software tools to analyze well test data and recommend methods to improve existing oil production.
  • Work with computer simulation models to evaluate impact of reservoir heterogeneity on oil recovery.
  • Work with reservoir mapping software IHS Kingdom for geologic interpretation, volumetric analysis, and development planning purposes.
  • Monitor the performance of the oilfield using Oilfield Manager (OFM) Surveillance System Software.
  • Perform company Reserve Analysis using PhDWin and assist in generating an audited third-party reserve report.
  • Develop new methods for rapid evaluation of well production data and selection of candidate wells for re-stimulation.
  • Perform pressure transient analysis and interpretation of interference tests which are key aspects in understanding the dynamics of oil and gas fields.

Asset Development team:

  • Generate and examine maps of subsurface oil and gas reservoir locations to recommend placement of wells and design a development plan for maximizing oil and gas recovery.
  • In addition, forecasts the production of oil and gas using decline curve analysis.
  • Work closely with the production and facilities team and provide them with reliable production forecasts which help them design facilities to treat produced fluids.
  • Direct involvement in designing any Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) projects.

Upper Management team:

  • Work closely with the upper management team and assist them with technical and economic analysis and appraisal of prospective oilfields.
  • In addition, assist upper management in preparing presentations by providing development plans and economic forecasts for various ongoing projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field
  • MS Degree preferred but not required
  • Must have strong work ethic.
  • Must be well organized and a self-starter.
  • Must be able to follow standard operating procedures.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Attention to detail, professional attitude, reliable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
